Follow the steps below, and watch that the ranking on your website will increase until it reaches the start page and is in the first search results on the Search Engine Result Page.

1. Fill in the content of your website with related matters

Quality content is the main trigger for good ranking results on search engines and there is also no other trigger that can compete besides quality content. Quality content is made specifically with the aim of increasing traffic on your website, which will also increase the site’s authority and relevance to your website.

Look for keywords for every page on your website. Try to adjust the keywords you are looking for according to the keywords used by visitors in searching for things related to the content of your website. Then, repeat this step several times on the page you chose for that keyword, just once or twice at the opening and closing sections of your content paragraph, and two to four times on subsequent content.

Don’t forget to use the bold, italic, heading tags, and other tags to highlight the main points in your content, but don’t overdo it. Don’t ever underestimate and sacrifice writing good and quality content for SEO purposes. The best pages to use are for users, not for search engines.

2. Always regularly update the content of the website

Maybe you have noticed that in this article, I highly recommend and emphasize the content on the website. Because search engines always update to find the latest rankings for SEO rank on all websites in the world. Doing regular updates on website content is also seen as one of the best indicators of updates in website relevance, so pay attention to always making your website new and updated.

3. Metadata

When you design your website, each page has a space between the <head> tags to provide metadata, or information related to the website content on that page. If you use a CMS, the UMC web team has provided some data that can be used by you, as follows:

Title Metadata: responsible for displaying the title on the page where the title will be displayed at the top of the browser window. This metadata is the most important metadata for your website pages. For website users with a CMS, the web developer team has developed an automatic system to create a meta title on every web page.

Description Metadata: is the description text that will be used by the browser when doing every search that you have ever done. Think of it as the appearance of your website window, a concise and compelling description of what is written on the content, which aims to invite visitors to visit your website.

Keyword Metadata: is a search phrase that potential visitors write when they want to find your web page. You will write various kinds of phrases in response to this. However, don’t be too greedy in this case, if the list of phrases you write down is too much, your browser may reject the data you created earlier. Therefore, you should try to make a list with only 6 to 8 phrases where each phrase consists of 1 to 4 words.

4. Enter the appropriate link and have a good result on your website

Focus on creating links that relate to the text that is in your content. Instead of having a link with the text “click here”, try to make it in accordance with the intended destination name. “Click here” has no meaningful value on search engines, compared to “Interesting Tips for You” which has good and appropriate keywords that will give you an increase in search rankings and also in the ranking of the pages you link to.

5. Use alt tags

Always describe your visual media and videos using alt tags, or other alternative text descriptions. By using alt tags, search engines can find out the location of your website pages, which is very important, especially for those who use text-only browsers.
